Coming in 2027

Matthew Tompkins — Tue, 6 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000

The battle for control of the galaxy just took an unexpected turn.

When Alsatia Din, the last High Council member of the original Magisterium Purim, awakens from a 1200-year slumber, he finds that the civilization he knew has devolved into a brutal, steam-powered dystopia built on the ashes of its forgotten history.

Armed with forgotten technology, this ghost from the past begins an impossible mission to drag the galaxy out of its depravity, launching a crusade to reclaim its former glory.

But Eric Mainz, the tyrannical modern Dark Lord of the Magisterium Purim, isn't about to surrender his chokehold on the galaxy. Armed with a ruthless, massive army of Enforcers, Mainz will stop at nothing to crush this ancient interloper.

Forced into an uneasy alliance with Dashel Tyrus, the fierce former number two of the Magisterium Purim who is on a mission of vengeance that could burn the galaxy, Din finds his mission far more difficult than he thought.

The rusting, forgotten gears of an ancient empire are in motion. And the final showdown for the galaxy just got stranger.

If you love the gritty tech-clash of Firefly, the high-stakes galactic empires of Dune, and complex villains that make you want to root for the bad guys, climb aboard that adventure today!

Today, I received a terrific picture from my artist. Never scrimp. It can be done. We can do it, my people. Never give up. I'm 47, and I am doing this; you can too! Be proud if you write. Many people talk about it, but never do it, but guess what? YOU DID!

A little update about the projects that I'm currently working on.

My first book is out on Amazon at

https://www.amazon.com/SWORD-FIRE-Jonahs-Journey-Book-ebook/dp/B0DS1C6F6D/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1YAHYU365I16E&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.CGPgMQApOS71Jdz_YCBV95L64FcIYhlzuytAIWwO93ULcdUDkciaufaYrkQm68PMgAhIDg50s-1GbAWp69uobv91gPR9TM9dZ-DCYziqhd4hvdCPcrDv3OyhLsaZxk1rwUyhRRd_h1NEK3GsgE6wExvhk38s5cEtjsh1kRtlN2mAhKPiAtn9IJZ58pVjtM8HFhvaNFE9nzvsjaGOFjTV8ilTyC4E67g_Zb0-YfUvBGg.3XiC2mBkOmsng1X_pRx1KNUZEuo4gKh1_d4LWniknhw&dib_tag=se&keywords=matthew+tompkins&qid=1760709704&sprefix=matthew+tompkin,aps,151&sr=8-1

It's available in eBook, hardcover, and paperback.

I'm working on my second book , which is a departure from my first book called Dark Land. It's a fantasy book about an author who finds out the world he made is actually a living, breathing thing. I think this is one of my best projects yet. Hopefully, I will be done with this by the end of this year or the beginning of the next.

Join me on my author's journey as the school is done and the work begins
